3rd Pissed Off Reaper // 13th to the 19th [Action]

[Between all the trouble that she's had to put up with over the last month and what's happened recently, Shepard...has had an eventful stay in Luceti thus far, to say the least. Now she's got a potential, not to mention secret, mission on her hands, and if she makes the cut, it'll be her first job at the Malnosso's service at this point. The work involved? Stealth, and sabotage--two things she was definitely cut out for, in the end, thanks to the extensiveness of N7 training, but turned down because she felt she'd do a better job watching out for the others instead. Tours of duty don't change at all, no matter the world, it seems. Just the faces that give out the missions, and the rank and file that are beneath her, if any.

Once she's signed up for it, she'll be spending the mornings leading up to the day of the mission in the battledome to prepare, in the event that she is selected as a member, and using her afternoons to meet up with who she feels might be involved in the mission, provided they're around for her to talk with at all. (Here's looking at you, Lupin...even if she won't be able to find you at all during the later days.)

It was no time to be unprepared; they needed to put a plan together, and they needed to make the most of the hours they had.]

[Judging by the bemused smirk and the curious look he was giving her, she wasn't. She's just got quite an interest in this particular newcomer, is all.]

A curiosity. I have heard several residence of Luceti speak of this place which has led me to, as humans say, 'check it out'.

[Spock blinds at her rank and title...]

I too am a Commander of a ship; First officer of the USS Enterprise, flagship of the United Federation of Planets.

So you're here to get a tour of the battledome, huh? I can show you around, if you want.

[...Well, that caught her interest. Now where has she heard the name of that flagship before? She could've sworn she saw it once while going through the extranet for things to pass along to Anderson at some point. It may have been a wild guess from what little she knows of this guy, but it seems like the most logical conclusion.] So, another spacefarer, I presume?

[Spock motions for her to go ahead and follows along side her.]

Indeed... There are have been very few beings here who in their universes are capable of warp. Have you met Mister Skywalker and Mister Kenobi?

[risingshepard]

Skywalker? Yeah, I know him... [She grins a little as she leads the way, taking the occasional pause to point out a facility and describe it in some mundane fashion.] Fun to be with, if a bit of an oddball.

Haven't met Kenobi yet, but I've at least heard his name being mentioned.

[Spock follows her intently, listening to all of her descriptions. He nods at her reply...]

Indeed. May I ask, Commander, what brings you here today?

Just getting myself back into gear. Can't afford to get rusty when I still have a job to do.

[Not that she'd say outright that she has a secret mission to handle...if she actually gets picked for it, at any rate, but that could be taken as anything, given her position.]

[Spock can tell that Commander Shepard is anxious... so he makes a suggestion.]

Indeed. Would you care for a sparring match?

[...That gets a tilt of the head. Wait, what?] You don't look like the sort that could fight...then again, that's probably just me judging a book by its cover.

[That, and synthetic augmentations...would you really want to get punched by her? 8|]

Vulcan philosophy does not look fondly on violence, however, we are trained from a very young age in several methods of self defense. I believe you would find me an adequate partner...


[plus, you know, three times stronger than the average human male... I think he'll be okay.]

[...Well, she doesn't see why not. A sparring partner would be good for the nerves now and then, too.] Well, if you insist on it, Spock, I'm not gonna object. [She points a thumb at the nearest available room, turning to head in that direction.] This way.

This should prove most fruitful if we prove fair as sparring partners. What styles of defense do you usually employ?

[So will Shepard--especially once she finds that he can withstand her augmented punches.]

I haven't found a discipline that works for me yet, but fisticuffs and the occasional pistolwhip are making for nice substitutes.

I've never done a fighting thread before... should be fun! ^_^

[Spock quirks an eyebrow as they enter a training room.]

It will prove interesting to compare your fighting styles to that of my Captain's. He is rather...fond in using whatever 'feels right'.

[A little chuckle escapes her lips again.] Remind me to check around town for him. He sounds like the kind of person I could rely on in the long term.

[Shepard poises herself on it -- though not without fiddling with the console first, and making the appropriate atmosphere for sparring; the construct that she recreates is nothing more than a spacious, dull metal room, but it was functional. She didn't need anything prettying up what was to be a battlezone.

She soon takes her place on the mat, cracking her knuckles.] Ready to go?
