3rd Pissed Off Reaper // 13th to the 19th [Action]

[Between all the trouble that she's had to put up with over the last month and what's happened recently, Shepard...has had an eventful stay in Luceti thus far, to say the least. Now she's got a potential, not to mention secret, mission on her hands, and if she makes the cut, it'll be her first job at the Malnosso's service at this point. The work involved? Stealth, and sabotage--two things she was definitely cut out for, in the end, thanks to the extensiveness of N7 training, but turned down because she felt she'd do a better job watching out for the others instead. Tours of duty don't change at all, no matter the world, it seems. Just the faces that give out the missions, and the rank and file that are beneath her, if any.

Once she's signed up for it, she'll be spending the mornings leading up to the day of the mission in the battledome to prepare, in the event that she is selected as a member, and using her afternoons to meet up with who she feels might be involved in the mission, provided they're around for her to talk with at all. (Here's looking at you, Lupin...even if she won't be able to find you at all during the later days.)

It was no time to be unprepared; they needed to put a plan together, and they needed to make the most of the hours they had.]

[He's not so hidden as she might believe. Though battling against his warring beliefs and the vertigo that was steadily creeping upon him, Lupin went back to what he did best--work. It helped calm his mind, and gave him reason.

It was something that the residents of House 46 hadn't bothered to understand.

Shepard will be able to find him in the bakery with a cup of coffee nearby, seated at a table within sight of the fountain. There is a sketchbook on the table before him, but his coordination is too off to draw the lines as straight as he wished.]

[And here she wasn't expecting to come across him at all...the things life surprises her with.

Shepard regards him for a moment as she passes by the bakery's window, contemplating whether or not she should head inside and sit down opposite him. Maybe it was just her letting her worries catch up with her, but he doesn't look like he's in the best of moods for small talk. That...was probably caused by what she missed on the 14th, whatever the hell it was... She already got Luke's side of things, but not Lupin's take on the matter--and if she needed a full view of the bigger picture, she had to get that, too. Sure, promises were broken that night. Sure, things got hairy, but if they had reasons to get pissed over it, so did he, right? It can't have been some unbalanced dispute that could've been solved if they sat down and talked this out...

...After a bit more mental fussing, she goes in and makes her way over to him.] Got time to spare?

[Lupin's gaze flicked upward momentarily to note her presence before returning to his sketch. There were notes on the side--scribbled out notes on dimensions and possible weights, as well as the names of several other residents that Shepard wouldn't recognize.

Her own was among them, but it was struck through with an erratic line of charcoal.]

Depends. [His tone was flat.] What do you want it for?

[She just raises her brow at what she sees before placing a hand on her hip. She could wonder about that later, when things were set in stone...] Just looking for some honest answers. I won't keep you for long.

[He set the wrapped stick of charcoal down, ignoring the fact that his long fingers were smeared in black, and leveled his gaze at the red head.]

If this is going to be a lecture, I've all ready heard it. Take a tip from the Vice Admiral--everyone else in the house can too.

Easy, Lupin...I mean what I said. [There was no bite behind her expression, nor was there any intent in her tone to give him another earful. In fact, she looks more concerned for what this'll entail for the rest of the house.] I don't have any reason to beat around the bush over shit that's already happened; I just want to hear your side of things, is all.

[He went back to his sketch, working out a bare skeleton of the fountain just within sight in the plaza.]

They got mad at me for not keeping a promise that I never would have been able to keep, and shouldn't even have made. I finally trusted them enough to treat them like my partners, and they threw it back at me.

[Even if she works at the village clinic more often, her occasional shifts at the battledome give her an excellent excuse to be there when she wants to train without being obvious. So it is that Ami runs into Shepherd on her way out, and suddenly feels compelled to explain herself.]

I think it's best to keep up with a healthy exercise regimen. You seem to be working hard, too.

[Heh, you haven't seen exercise regimens until you've seen the training from hell she's dealt with. :P She stops and peeks back at the other girl, grinning a little.] Really? Feels more like I was just keeping busy, with what's brewing this month.

[Spock did finally decide to explore the battledome....but he has yet to step through the front door. He is currently taking in the surroundings outside seemingly in deep thought.

It has not been long since he 'landed' in Luceti... it was rather incredible how fast he was integrated into society here. However, he feels that he is lacking in...something. Mission perhaps? His life always had purpose, a mission for the greater good. Perhaps he should ask Mister Lupin what he would do in this particular situation. ]

[...Huh. There's something she doesn't see everyday. Shepard slows to a stop just as she arrives, staring in boggled fashion for a sec, before her genuine interest in the newcomer takes over.

The uniform doesn't seem at all familiar, but he doesn't look normal, with those pointed ears...was he an alien of some sort, if a human-looking one? If so, was he from another space-faring world? And what was his rank, to begin with, if he was military? ...It makes her raise an eyebrow, perturbed.] ...Fascinating.

[Judging by the bemused smirk and the curious look he was giving her, she wasn't. She's just got quite an interest in this particular newcomer, is all.]

Commander Shepard of the Normandy. A pleasure.

What brings you out to a place like this?

A curiosity. I have heard several residence of Luceti speak of this place which has led me to, as humans say, 'check it out'.

[Spock blinds at her rank and title...]

I too am a Commander of a ship; First officer of the USS Enterprise, flagship of the United Federation of Planets.

So you're here to get a tour of the battledome, huh? I can show you around, if you want.

[...Well, that caught her interest. Now where has she heard the name of that flagship before? She could've sworn she saw it once while going through the extranet for things to pass along to Anderson at some point. It may have been a wild guess from what little she knows of this guy, but it seems like the most logical conclusion.] So, another spacefarer, I presume?

[And pretty much any day Shepard will likely very easily run into Leonhardt because as she's arriving, he's on his way out to go home for a quick lunch and then come back for another couple of hours.

Yeah, he's a bit insane about his training and tends to arrive bright and early and spend a good amount of the day training on even a normal day, and even lives pretty close by because of that habit.]

[The pleasant surprises just keep rolling in. He'll cross paths with her on the 15th, and when they do, she stops in her tracks and peeks over her shoulder to look at the other soldier, eyebrow raised in fascination.] Well, well, isn't this a tad convenient.

[He smriks a bit at such a reaction. Not that much of a surprise when this is the best place to find him, after all.] I'm more surprised it took this long for us to run into each other here.

I have my damaged armor to blame, if it counts for much. [Shit happened that she didn't feel like going over since it's long passed. She shrugs, still eyeing him. Might as well make this convenient for the two of them, if possible, since they're here.] You mind company?

[Yeah, shit does happen in Luceti.] That would depend. I will admit I am not one to spar for training, but otherwise do not mind company.

[More like he prefers not to spar since he tends to be far superior in skill to most here.]

Hey, it's no skin off my back. I was thinking of bringing back an old favorite with the dome today, anyway. [Not that she didn't want to spar with Leonhardt at all, but she wanted to relive some of her N6 training. Maybe she could convince him to tag along for the ride?]
